Headlight & Taillight PPF FAQ

How much does headlight tint cost?

STEK light protection film is $125 per pair for small lights and $175 per pair for large lights, whether that pair is headlights or taillights. Those prices are firm - we don't charge more for an exotic than we do for a commuter car. Anything outside the categories listed, like a Sprinter van, is custom quoted.

Is headlight tint legal in Washington?

Washington limits anything that reduces the effectiveness of your headlights or taillights, so a tinted light film may not be street legal depending on the shade and the vehicle. Plenty of customers run it anyway, and the darker shades are best kept to show, track, or off-road use. Worth knowing before you decide.

Does it protect the lens or just tint it?

Both. Light protection film is paint protection film grade material, so it takes rock cracks, acid stains from insects and bird droppings, fading from pollution and hazing from surface scratches instead of your lens. It is the same self-healing, hydrophobic technology used in our paint protection film, applied to the lights.

Can it be removed?

Yes, without damage to the lens. The film is designed to come off cleanly, leaving the original light underneath as it was.

How long does it take?

About one hour for a set of two lights. A pair of headlights and a pair of taillights on the same visit takes roughly twice that.

Do you do the amber Euro look?

Yes. FORCESHIELDamber is a bright yellow film for headlights, fog lights and turn markers, and it works on glass or plastic lenses. It carries a 5-year warranty and self-heals light scratches.
